“Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will host the Stanley Cup in her congressional office on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., in 2136 Rayburn House Office Building (First Floor). Fans can arrive at Norton’s office beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will be admitted in groups of four. Norton introduced a resolution congratulating the Washington Capitals for winning the 2018 Stanley Cup, the first championship in team history. (more…)

“Today, Monumental Sports & Entertainment along with Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that Capital One Arena will broadcast the 2018 Washington Capitals Stanley Cup banner raising ceremony and home opener against the Boston Bruins on the G Street outdoor video board on Wednesday, October 3.

“Dear PoPville,

Friends and I attended our first DC United game ever at the new Audi field last Wednesday, and we had a great time and decided to return for Sunday’s game against Atlanta. On our return visit, one of my friends and I showed up toting the exact same purses as we had brought in on Wednesday with no issues, but on Sunday we were turned away after the security people compared our purses to a plastic rectangle they were holding, telling us our bags were too large. We were directed to go around the stadium and deposit our purses into storage, which of course cost an additional $15 per locker. Friends (all the women in our group were turned away) and I spent 20 minutes waiting in this line–which was of course all women, along with a few male companions–and by the time we got to our seats, we had missed 28 minutes of the game. So all in all, I was charged an additional $15 and missed 30% of the match of my $60 tickets, or $33 in total from this ridiculous policy.

Apparently this has been Audi Field’s bag policy since the stadium opened in July, but I see several issues: (more…)

It’s been a long week. It’s gonna be a longer weekend. So indulge me!! I was talking with a buddy of mine about an essential question: what song would you walk out to if you were lucky enough to be a professional baseball player. Ed. Note: Go Nats!! This is a very, very hard question – you can only pick one song. After much consideration I ultimately went with Sure Shot. What’s yours?
