We love a new season, especially fall. Break out a light sweater, order something pumpkin flavored — oh, and it’s never too early to watch a spooky movie.

Plus, with each new season, it’s a good reminder to take care of yourself. If you need a break from cleaning — or if you want a pro to really get in there (Halloween may be coming, but cobwebs aren’t required) — then turn to Well-Paid Maids.

Well-Paid Maids was founded in the D.C. area in 2017. Our goal is to take care of your home — and also take care of our cleaners, who are W-2 employees. We pay a starting wage of $23 an hour and provide benefits, including insurance, 24 paid days off per year and more.

That means you should never feel guilty leaning on our cleaners to help you out! After all, you’re supporting a company that’s determined to clean up a notoriously dirty industry.

Even better, you’ll feel a huge weight lifted as you walk into your clean home.

Here’s what Paige, who has had Well-Paid Maids clean her D.C. home since 2012, said: “There is such a strong feeling of relief and calm when I come home to a clean house that Well-Paid Maids has thoroughly and thoughtfully done.”

Oh, and to make things a little pumpkin spicy, when you book your cleaning online, use the code POPVILLE20 at checkout for $20 off.

The federal minimum wage has been $7.25 since July 2009. That’s the longest it’s remained unchanged since minimum wage was introduced in the U.S. in 1938.

Now, it’s time for a change.

In late July, House and Senate Democrats unveiled the latest iteration of Raise the Wage Act. If passed, minimum wage would gradually increase to $17 an hour over a five-year period.

“No matter what the business size is, it’s good business sense to pay a living wage,” Aaron Seyedian, founder of Well-Paid Maids, said.

Seyedian attended the introduction of the bill and is a firm believer in paying living wages. He pays his staff a starting wage of $23 an hour in D.C. — and $27 an hour in New York City. When Seyedian started the company back in 2017, he paid employees $16 an hour. Through the years, he has increased rates based on Living Wage For US standards.

“Profitability doesn’t have to come from squeezing your staff,” he said. “It can come from productivity, capacity and growth. Paying a living wage has helped my business succeed and grow.”

Support a higher federal minimum wage — and a company leading by example — when you book a home cleaning with Well-Paid Maids. Walking into a sparkling clean home is just the cherry on top!
