Recently, the District launched a pilot designed to recover stolen cars.

By providing owners with an AirTag, the hope is that vehicles can be quickly located. Adding an AirTag to your vehicle (which can be hidden in the lining of your trunk or other less obvious placement) is just an additional method to know where your property is, though anyone with any iPhone can be notified that an AirTag is in the vehicle. Other measures to protect your car may include having your VIN etched into the catalytic converter or other valuable target parts.

Wheel locks protect your tires and rims, and generally also need to be accessible for your maintenance appointments

Record winter weather is predicted, and this could be another season where drivers inadvertently spend more time in their car due to adverse commuting conditions. As temperatures drop, ensure fluids like coolant are at recommended levels and that your battery is in good health. Keeping up with basic or manufacturer-recommended maintenance on your car ensures you’re prepared for whatever the forecast has in store.

Roda, formerly known as CarCare To Go, knows that taking care of your car can and should be simpler.

We pick-up, we service, we return. Yes, that means you can get basic maintenance — from oil changes and alignments, to major repairs like replacing a catalytic converter or transmission, with free valet pick-up and return to and from our certified shop. See how it works.

Our Winter Special offer — a $225 detail, wiper replacement, fluid top-off, comprehensive safety inspection. PLUS 10% off services added to same visit.

Well-Paid Maids, the D.C. area’s only living-wage home cleaning company, has raised its starting wage again.

Our new minimum wage is $24 per hour, a full $7 higher than the D.C. minimum wage. And, of course, we continue to offer our industry-leading benefits package including 24 paid days off per year, health, dental, and vision insurance, and 100% employer-paid commuting costs.

Since our founding in 2017, Well-Paid Maids has raised its starting wage by $8, beating inflation from then til now by $4. Why? It’s in the name! We believe all our staff deserve a living-wage plus benefits. Not only is it the right thing to do, it means better quality service for our customers.

But don’t take our word for it. Check us out on YelpGoogle, and Nextdoor to see hundreds of 5-star reviews from satisfied customers. Book now and see the difference a living wage makes!

Attention D.C. renters!

Did you know that D.C. law requires building owners of 8+ residential units to provide bike parking after a written request from a tenant?

The District Department of Transportation’s Bike Parking Guide (page 6) states that there should be “the lesser of either one bicycle parking space for each three residential units; or enough bicycle parking to meet the requested demand”.

If you do not have a secure place to park your bike, consider sharing your request and the Bike Parking Guide with your property manager and ask that they contact MetroBike.

We can advise on location, type of parking, and do the installation. MetroBike works with multiple parking manufacturers to offer a variety of parking options, from inverted U racks to double-decker racks to Bike Barns — secure sheds to be installed outdoors when sufficient indoor space is not available.

Visit us at MetroBike.net for more information.

Dedicated to creating the next generation of Northern Virginia’s technology workforce, Fuse at Mason Square (George Mason University) will house graduate-level education and interdisciplinary research in a broad range of programs, including computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cyber security, among others.

Transparency, openness, and connectivity drove the development of the proposed design intended to physically and visually welcome students, educators, entrepreneurs, industry partners, and the community.

Conceived as a series of vertical neighborhoods stacked throughout the structure, Fuse’s design creates a “Main Street” or collaboration spine on each floor with a wide pathway that encourages spontaneous connections between Mason and industry partners. Cross-pollination zones also support a mixing-bowl approach to programming — intentionally interweaving Mason’s programs with partners’ spaces on every floor — encouraging connection and teamwork.

Each floor offers a loft-lab or deep lab block with column-free structural bays that meet education and workplace needs by accommodating large classrooms and open and private offices. And a Specialty Lab core — located on multiple floors — offers a centralized resource of advanced research spaces.

Creating a marquee environment, Fuse boasts open spaces filled with daylight and access to outdoor areas at multiple levels. From the inside out and outside in, you’ll discover dynamic learning, research, and innovation space, bolstering Mason’s efforts to recruit and retain the best and brightest.
