You could easily walk by this wall on Corcoran St, NW without realizing that it’s got a wild sculpture up top:

I always forget how cool this one is and every time I pass it I’m just as amazed as the first I saw it.

This one from Shaw is even better than ones from Adams Morgan we saw earlier in the week.

I always forget how awesome these sculptures are from Calvert in Adams Morgan. I haven’t seen anything like these sculptures bordering a front door anywhere else in DC.

You can see what the houses look like after the jump. (more…)

I can’t believe I’ve never passed by this gigantic leaf sculpture before now.
Looks like the art panel has a particular softness for leaf sculptures and poems.
I dig them too.

The sculpture on the side of the Four Seasons in Georgetown is a bit obscured but when you notice it, simply awesome:

I’m going with number 1 above. Anyone recognize either of these shots?

This one is a little bit different from the earlier ones this week but it certainly has its own merit.
It has tons of details:

Lots more details after the jump. (more…)

I found this one particularly moving. Notice the flowers in her hand.

We’ve spoken about Rock Creek Church cemetery (by Rock Creek Church Rd and Webster St, NW and near the Old Soldiers Home grounds) in the past. But every time I don’t go for a few months I’m always amazed by its beauty. Particularly many of the sculptures found throughout the grounds. I’m gonna highlight a few that struck me as particularly cool on a recent trip. And if you haven’t been in person, it’s worth the trip.

I sorta did a double take when I was walking down Porter this weekend from Cleveland Park towards Beach Drive and Mt. Pleasant. But when I took a closer look, it was def. some sorta street art/political statement. Some other walkers came over and I asked them what they thought. They said they found it, “Striking”. I’ll go on the record and say I like it.
What do you guys think?

Couple more shots after the jump. (more…)
