“Dear PoPville,
We had a bit of fun with our windows in the office after our holiday party at 2000 L St NW. We’ve had a lot of love (and more specifically, facebook “like” symbols out of Post-Its) from the neighboring office buildings.

Sometimes when you work in the pretty dull downtown DC, you need something to liven it up!”

For non tribe members – a mikva is also “a bath used for the purpose of ritual immersion in Judaism”. So I was dying to know what the challenge was about…
Turns out it’s another type of immersion – from Mikva Challenge DC:
“Modeled after the successful civic engagement programming developed for youth in Chicago, Mikva Challenge DC provides opportunities for young people in DC to engage in action civics and community problem solving, and seeks to increase youth voice in local decision making processes.”
Very, very cool indeed!!

Wild – update from our missed connection back in October – missed again:
Missed connection #2: Red Line between Metro Center and Farragut North 5:20ish 12/8: I ran into my missed connection from October on the red line yesterday but was at my stop and got off (I know– should have stayed on the train and given him my number!). I did talk to Robert enough to get a name though. Just putting another note out there that if you read these posts Robert from San Francisco and would be interested in getting a drink- let PoP know [[email protected]]. I’m the woman from Room 11 and now the red line metro. -Janine“

You can see the original sign here (also an oddly mesmerizing tumblr of all the 2014 campaign signs).
Now on the 1300 block of H Street, NE:
