“Dear PoPville,

I’ve noticed more “missing cats” signs posted on lampposts lately. I might suggest that DC newbies and students be aware that Rock Creek Park is very intertwined with our neighborhoods, and when you notice those cute bunnies in the early mornings and evenings in your blocks, there are also those beautiful foxes seeking them out … as well as for your cats. Beware, bring in your pets at night.”

Thanks to Bill for sending from Logan Circle/14th Street: “The dog’s name is Vin!”

“Dear PoPville,

I wanted to reach out to spread the awareness about an unwell man in Navy Yard. As quick background, our dog was born with a medical condition and walks with a bad limp. We have been treating it since he was a puppy but there is nothing we can do until he is older. He’s given pain medicine (as needed) and is well taken care of and frequently sees the vet.

Last week, a man with blue hair approached my girlfriend while she was walking our dog and continuously commented on our dog’s leg. She asked him to leave her alone and was able to walk away.

This morning around 7:20 am, the man approached her again. He was screaming at her, followed her, kept trying to get close to her, and at one point even laid in the street. (more…)

Thanks to Kathleen and others for sending the incredibly sad news about Bruno the 1 year-old male French Bulldog stolen from Brightwood Park in April. The Washington Post reported:

“The bulldog was identified by his microchip, a D.C. police spokesperson said.

Police in Prince George’s County declined to comment on Bruno’s death.”

Update if/when more is released.

Thanks to Brian for sending from the Navy Yard Harris Teeter.

“Dear PoPville,

We’re hoping someone can provide an update about a dog-related incident Sunday in Rock Creek Park. My husband was hiking when he heard dogs barking and a woman screaming. A pit bull was attacking her dog and she was trying to separate them. My husband ran across the creek and managed to hold back the pittie, which enabled the woman to chase after her dog, who had bolted. (more…)
