Ever since Circle Boutique closed their doors at 1736 14th Street, NW I’ve been wondering what may go into that spot. Now keep in mind, whenever I use scuttlebutt in the title, it is just that, scuttlebutt. Rumor. Hearsay.  I did hear it from a very reliable source but I don’t believe anything is in stone at the moment.

Nevertheless, I’m pretty excited about this possibility. I’m hearing that Crepes-a-Go-Go may open up another location at this spot. They currently have a store at 2122 P Street, NW. You can see their menu here. Any fans? Think a crepe spot will work for this location on 14th near Logan Circle?

Thanks to a reader for sending the Post’s Answerman column that answers the same question a reader sent in a few weeks ago.

The Answerman writes:

“Dr. Johnson died in 1941, a year after the Washington House apartments were built where his garden had been. His house is now the embassy of Angola. All that remains of his garden are four crumbling columns. Why were they left untouched? That wall might be attached to the rowhouse at 1618 Florida Ave., making it more trouble than it’s worth to remove.”

“Dear PoP,

I jogged by Florida Avenue Grill today and noticed a sign on the window advertising a party tomorrow. It seems it’s the restaurant’s
65th anniversary so they are having a block party celebration tomorrow from 10-4. Do you know anything about this?”

Yup, just spoke to the folks from Florida Avenue Grill and indeed they’re having a block party on 11th Street, NW south of Florida Ave starting at 10am. There will be free food and good times. The party goes until 4pm. Thanks for the heads up!

More info found here and a virtual tour found here.

I really love the floors on the second floor here. I’m also a huge fan of the bay window on the first floor. The location is pretty tight as well. However, I’m always a little concerned by “As Is” sales, but it doesn’t look like it needs much work from the photos. Does $715,000 sound reasonable for this 3 bed/1.5 bath?

More info and photos found here.

I’ve been monitoring this building pretty closely and am excited we get to take a look inside. I think the location is pretty good as there is a lot of movement on the 9th and U St. area and we’ve seen in the last few weeks. This is near the flea market that is going to get redeveloped plus the wine bar, consignment shop, and new tavern that are all slated to come in nearby. But anyway, back to the actual condo. How do you think it looks? How do you think the building itself looks?

Does $499,999 sound reasonable for this 2 bed/2 bath?

There were a bunch of random barrels inside the old O Street Market off 7th Street, NW. God knows why they’re there. Any ideas?
