Ed. Note: Gonna have to revisit our best burger list sooner than I thought.

From a press release:

“Meet “Lucy’s,” a bar and burger spot aiming to do a few simple things really well. Lucy’s is located above Little Coco’s in the space formerly hosting Coco Beach and Hot Coco popup bars. They will return in summer and winter within Lucy’s, which is conceived as a permanent bar & grill.

We love burgers. Over the years, we’ve created a wide range of burgers–from decadent old school ones to new school ones with crazy toppings, even a $40 Kobe beef one. We’ve curated extensive beer and cocktail lists. At Lucy’s, we’re going back to basics, offering a small menu of great burgers and fries, accompanied by an unfussy bar with beer, pops and a few delicious cocktails. (more…)

Ed. Note: Rejoice textdoc et al, after a long and bloody neighborhood boundary battle I’m ceding back the 3600 of Georgia Ave to Park View. I haven’t anymore fight left in me and at this point I don’t want to confuse folks. So there you have it, I surrender. I surrender.

Thanks to Dan for solving the mystery at the (new/old) Marrakech Moroccan Restaurant space. Not sure what happened to Marrakech but it looks like mr. braxton Bar&Kitchen is taking over the space: (more…)

Update from Ward 4 Council Member Brandon Todd: “According to MPD this is an apparent suicide not homicide.”

A reader reported a shooting homicide in the 1300 block of Randolph Street, NW just before 1am last night.

Ed. Note: From the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline – “No matter what problems you are dealing with, we want to help you find a reason to keep living. By calling 1-800-273-TALK (8255) you’ll be connected to a skilled, trained counselor at a crisis center in your area, anytime 24/7.”

Thanks to Jes for sending the above on Friday:

“Not sure what’s going on at the Moroccan place but some layers have been peeled back. I think it’s still going to be the Moroccan place, but they gutted the inside too.”

It appears to be a banana?!?!?
