Back in Oct. 2012 we saw a Manny & Olga’s pizza was coming to 1409 H St, NE by the Argonaut. They’ve opened this week. You can see their menu here.
Actually locking your doors and windows is a good idea wherever you live. From MPD:
A pattern of burglaries that have occurred over the last 10-14 days in the area of 6th & L Streets NE. These burglaries have occurred during the day time hours and entry has been gained primarily through unlocked windows in the rear/side of the premises. Home electronics and laptops have been the most common stolen items. The First District has deployed a Mountain Bike Squad to the area during the day, due to their ability to quickly navigate the alleys in the area. Members of the First District Power Shift will be in the area this evening conducting a door-to-door canvass. Please take the time to share with these officers anything that you may have noticed out of the ordinary recently in the neighborhood. While we have not been able to positively link these cases to each other, we are operating under the assumption that are related. The First District Detectives Office has assigned to single detective to manage the investigation and they are coordinating with the Mountain Bike and PSA Officers.
We are also requesting the community assistance in the prevention of these crimes. Please ensure that all entry points, doors and windows, are secured – especially when you leave home. If you would like a First District Officer to conduct a security survey of your home, contact your PSA Lieutenant and we will schedule as assessment.

Anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging to 50411. Additionally, please call 911 if you observe suspicious persons or activities.

A neighborhood is defined by the community within it, so, for one afternoon, we will be inviting your neighbors to live it, love it, and eat in it, because as Virginia Woolf said “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”On Saturday, June 29th, We will be dining at 8 different restaurants along the H Street Corridor which are all within walking distance. Your ticket will include food at each participating location, with drink specials to be offered.
We will be donating a portion of the proceeds to local nonprofits. Let’s celebrate the community and help it out, too!
How does it work?: A ticket is your invitation to dine at all 8 participating locations. During check-in, on the day of, you will receive a dinner map, which shows you all the places you will try and love.
Are tickets available day of?: Yes, but they will be $15 at check in, right now they are $10.
Food and beverage tickets will be available the day of for $5.
I’m a Vegetarian: We love and respect vegetarians, and there may be vegetarian dishes at various places, but, we cannot guarantee vegetarian options or any other dietary restrictions.

We will be hanging out all night with John and his guys, from New Columbia. We’ll be serving up a few cocktails which we will be crafting using the seasonal gin. We’re thinking of an Apricot Bee’s Knees and maybe a Horchata Ramos Fizz. Also, our cocktails will be incorporating flavors of rosemary and black pepper, as well as blueberry and thyme.
