From a press release:

Fresh, well-tailored men’s fashions are coming to Cady’s Alley. EastBanc, Inc. and Jamestown announced today that popular online men’s clothier Bonobos has signed a long-term lease to occupy the south end 3320 Cady’s Alley retail space in its Georgetown Renaissance portfolio. The 1,000-square-foot space will serve as a Bonobos Guideshop location, offering customers an opportunity to be fitted and try on merchandise (by appointment) prior to making online purchases. Bonobos will replace the current occupant at 3320 Cady’s Alley, Yves Delorme, which is consolidating with its McLean and Bethesda locations. The Bonobos Guideshop grand opening is slated for late January 2013.

Bonobos is the largest apparel brand in the U.S. that sells its product exclusively over the Internet, and the company prides itself on offering exceptionally tailored apparel to fit men and their lifestyles. Bonobos’ brick and mortar Guideshop sites were conceptualized to transform the customer shopping experience with personalized, realistic impressions of online inventory and to register clothing measurements for future Internet purchases. Currently there are six Guideshop locations in the U.S., including a holiday pop-up in Bethesda.

The Bonobos space is prime commercial streetscape property in Georgetown and the gateway into Cady’s Alley. Augmenting the collection of distinguished designer brands currently located in the Georgetown Design District, Bonobos will round out the retail quarter as DC’s epicenter of modern fashion, furniture and lifestyle goods. The Bonobos deal is part of a recent surge of leasing activity in the Georgetown Renaissance portfolio, including deals with sophisticated retailers Intermix, CB2, Babette, The North Face, City Sports and West Elm. The Bonobos lease agreement validates the westward movement in Georgetown toward deluxe lifestyle offerings and will balance the current luxury fashion tenants – Intermix, Babette and Relish – with men’s trend-setting apparel.

“Bonobos will deliver forward-looking classic men’s fashions to the vibrant retail community in Cady’s Alley and we are pleased to have them be a part of the distinctive urban village that comprises our properties,” said Anthony Lanier, president of EastBanc. “We are impressed with the online success of the Bonobos brand and how the company effectively expanded its Internet presence with a traditional retail fashion model. Securing Bonobos supports our commitment to the neighborhood’s status as Washington’s premier retail destination and will surely complement the foot traffic in the corridor.”

From an email:

While we’re adamant that lobster rolls are a year round, every day food, we wanted to introduce some limited time, celebratory winter options for those who like something hotter/heartier when the weather gets cold.

Lobster Grilled Cheese: chunks of our Maine lobster sandwiched with rich gruyere cheese on Maine-made buttery organic white bread.

Broccoli Cheddar Soup & Butternut Squash Soup: these two winter classics warm the innards with their rich texture and hearty vegetables; they fit the bill for vegetarians, and they’re gluten free!

Apple Cider: Red Jacket Orchards cider served piping hot for only $2 a cup.

Maine Winter Beers: At Luke’s Penn Quarter location (and soon Bethesda) we’re serving Peak Organic Winter, a toasty winter wheat, and Shipyard Prelude, a nutty English-style brown.

Luke’s has DC locations in Georgetown and Penn Quarter (624 E St, NW.)

Back in July I shared some scuttlebutt that a Shake Shack would be coming to the Spy Museum cafe at the corner of 9th and F Street, NW. Shake Shack has now applied for a liquor license with the hours of 11am-11pm:

“A restaurant serving American cuisine specializing in burgers and shakes with a seating capacity of 58 and total occupancy load of 126. Request a sidewalk cafe with a seating capacity of 44.”

And a little more scuttlebutt for ya – I hear they are looking at a location for another new spot in Georgetown as well. Stay tuned. We judged Shake Shack’s Dupont location back in Sept. 2011.
