In May a water main broke due to construction hitting it near Columbia Road & 11th Street NW (Columbia Heights Old Faithful). Since then, the intersection has been torn up and reconstructed 5-6 times. The other day they hit a waterline again. (more…)

Natalie wrote: “Columbia Height station is closed right now, the yellow/green is going straight from Shaw to Petworth. Sounded like the conductor said it was because of “police activity.”

Alan Henney reported: “SHOTS FIRED IN METRO STATION— Columbia Heights Metro, 3030 14th St NW-DC. Police found shell casings in Columbia Heights station. NOBODY FOUND SHOT YET. Gunman may have fled on Metro train being held at Mt. Vernon Square.”

Taylor writes: “Fellow Columbia Heights residents:

Officers with @MetroTransitPD are handing out these flyers at the Columbia Heights Metro stop this morning.

The incident happened Wednesday night around 7:15pm ET.”

JB shares this incredibly scary photo above: “Bullet blasted through my 3rd floor window last night on Fairmont. About 4 feet from where I was standing. Near 13th & Fairmont. 640pm. Found bullet fragments in my bathtub and bathroom floor. MPD responded promptly.”
