While the officers were beginning to canvass, we received a call for a shooting in the 1100 block of K Street SE. Officers located three adult male victims and began to render aid. (more…)

This morning Andrew asked: “11th St SE was closed from North Carolina and Independence with police tape and cops at about 5am this morning – any idea what happened?”
From MPD:
“Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on Monday, May 4, 2020, between the intersection of 11th Street and Independence Avenue, Southeast.
Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 12:36 am, a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into another vehicle at listed location. The impact caused the vehicles to strike multiple parked vehicles. Following the collision, two occupants exited the first vehicle and fled on foot. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash and located a passenger inside of the first vehicle. The passenger was pronounced dead on the scene and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. (more…)
