I wanted to ask everyone what their experience has been getting tickets for the Kusama exhibit at the Hirshhorn? When it was there a few years ago, it was the hottest ticket in town. Now the museum is only releasing same day tickets in person the morning of. I was wondering how good a chance I have getting tickets now?”

“We’ve just decided to start offering limited day-of passes for Jazz in the Garden. We heard feedback about offering up another opportunity to register since the Friday before the concert release fills up so quickly [That registration still opens at noon one week before each concert]. The new day-of passes will go live every Friday 10am for that day’s concert.

More information on each performance is available at nga.gov/jazz.”

SakuSaku Flakerie at the National Building Museum is a French bakery with a Japanese twist, inspired by the owner’s Japanese heritage. The Museum’s new cafe will offer their signature croissants, Kouign Amann, quiches and other delectable treats as well as coffee and a variety of beverages. “DC’s favorite summer concert series is back! Every Friday from May 20 through July 22, our Sculpture Garden will come alive with musical performances ranging in style from jazz to Afro-Cuban and bluegrass.

On concert days, the Sculpture Garden will close from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.; gates will reopen at 5:00 p.m. and concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m.

“On April 15, the National Building Museum will bring French heritage back to life with a major new exhibition, Notre-Dame de Paris: The Augmented Exhibition, a 360-degree augmented reality immersion into the 850-year history of the cathedral and its ongoing restoration. The innovative installation is designed and produced by Histovery, a French start-up, in collaboration with the Public Institution in charge of the conservation and restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris. L’Oréal is the exclusive sponsor of the exhibit.

The exhibition’s North American debut at the Museum takes place on the third anniversary of the 2019 fire that ravaged this UNESCO World Heritage site and runs through Monday, September 26, 2022. An inaugural exhibition launches on April 7, 2022 in Paris, France at the Collège des Bernadins. This visually stunning experience is the first interactive technology exhibition on display at the National Building Museum. (more…)
