“Surprising us once again, the corpse flower bloom (Amorphophallus titanum) began opening last night — three days earlier than we had thought!
Measuring 97″ yesterday, it’s standing in the Garden Court in all of its large, stinky glory. The smell is tied to it seeking pollinators for the female flowers, so that began last night and there is still smell this morning! If you’re interesting in seeing and smelling it, come on over! The doors open at 10:00 am and it will be waiting to greet you! Learn more about this wonder and our conservation work at www.USBG.gov/CorpseFlower.”
