“I wanted to share with you that Bar Deco is hosting a mural design contest for the entire side of the Bulletin Building at 717 6th St NW. The contest is open to all students at DC-area high schools and universities, and the winner will receive a $500 prize and $1,000 donation to their school’s art program.”

Very cool! On their facebook page Martha’s Outfitters explains:
“Students from DC Public Schools Duke Ellington School of the Arts played tunes and helped paint our new mural designed by John Cahill and Meaza Yalew.”
For those not familiar with this great org.
“Martha’s Outfitters is a Non-Profit thrift store aimed at helping the community. All proceeds Martha’s Outfitters receives goes toward Martha’s Table’s food and children programs.”
