December 15 Coronavirus Data New Cases: 508

December 14th there were 327 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

From the Mayor’s Office:

“The District’s reported data for December 15, 2021 includes 508 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 70,375.

The District reported that one additional resident lost his life due to COVID-19.

· 62-year-old male

Tragically, 1,204 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

“Vaccine Clinic Tip – Try GW!” and some Testing Tips

Thanks to Allison for sending: “I just wanted to share that I had a super easy time getting my Pfizer booster through GW! You can pre-register online, however they easily accommodate walk-ins.

I was checked-in immediately around 9:45 and boosted right after, then out the door after the 15min safety period!

I had previously tried to book a booster online via One Medical (no appointments) and CVS/Walgreens (two-week lead time) so just wanted to spread the news since it may be a bit more efficiently run than a city site.

“FYI I got an exposure alert so I tried to get tested at the Sherman Ave nw firehouse and they said they ran out of their tests today and yesterday so it seems like testing demand is way back up. Don’t run up right at 7:30 like I just tried to if you need one!

Might want to let folks know the demand is way up! Guessing a mix of omicron + holiday travel”

“Just wanted to make sure people are aware of Curative testing sites since they’re not on the DC testing website but they have a ton of appointments available, including same day at a bunch of them. I went yesterday at 1 and they were super friendly and I got my results back already at 6:30 this morning. Thanks!”

“Covid PCR rapid tests for travel?”

“Dear PoPville,

I’m flying for the first time in two years next week, to visit family in Canada for Christmas. I need a PCR within 24 hours of departure. A dual citizen acquaintance recommended Same Day in Georgetown, but it’s $$$. I have an appointment Thursday at a CVS in SW, because apparently they do them for free, and I needed to test before a gathering that night, and thought it would be a good trial run.
