UPDATE: “At around 10pm last night, an individual coming from a nearby establishment punched and broke one of our windows. He injured himself and tried to flee the scene. MPD and EMS were quick to arrive and we were told the individual would be arrested after receiving medical attention. We would like to thank our DC Fire Department for coming by today to thoroughly clean the sidewalks with high-pressured water hoses.” – 801 Ownership

Been getting a lot of queries about the status of the 14th Street Streetscape project:
“The 14th st streetscape project has been going on forever. When will it end?”
Originally anticipated completion was “May 2019” but now the whole thing from Thomas Circle to Florida Ave is expected to finish in “Fall 2019”.
The floating bus stops and protected bike section down by Thomas Circle is looking good: (more…)

“I got this email from DCPL, they run a passport service office at the Reeves Center, right next door to the Post office at 14th and U street. They also have Saturday Hours which made it super easy to renew my son’s passport. The whole process took 10 minutes tops!” (more…)

2012 9th Street, NW
Thanks to a reader for sending: “Was just at gaslight and Sunday is [was] the last day. They are closing for a renovation.”
I spoke with the owner to make sure it was indeed closing for a renovation and not a “renovation”. Fortunately it is indeed a proper renovation, they are “integrating one of the retail bays that’s under the rolldown door.” If all goes well they’ll reopen September 18th. Stay tuned.
