“The Fifth District is working a shooting in the 100 block of Q Street NW that occurred on November 22, 2017 at approximately 3:49PM. The victim reports while standing on the sidewalk he heard several shots then realized he was shot once in the upper left leg. The victim was treated at a local hospital. The Lookout for the male with the handgun is a medium skin, 18-40 years old, heavy build, wearing dark jeans and a black hoodie. Any information please contact 2027279099
As for right now there is no evidence to connect the shooting in the unit block of N Street NW that occurred on November 21 with this incident. The Fifth District Detective’s office is investigating both cases.”

“Earlier today [Thursday], at approximately 1:30pm, members of the Third District responded to the 200 block of V Street NW in reference to the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival on the scene, officers located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower extremities. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“5D responded for a call for service for a shooting in the unit block of N St NW. Upon arriving on the scene, MPD found a 15 y/o juvenile male that appeared to have been shot in the right leg. The juvenile was transported (conscious & breathing) to an area hospital for treatment. There is no suspect lookout. If you have information regarding this incident, please contact the 5th District Detectives Office at (202)698-0660.”

With a broken boiler for nearly 3-weeks, the temperature of the open-to-the-public pool at Dunbar High School in Truxton Circle has been steadily dropping. 79-degrees two weeks ago was good for fast swimmers. 77-on Friday left some with numb toes and the chills. By Sunday, 75-made it tough to stay in for a full hour swim and only really fast swimmer could cope, though most during impromptu conversations said they never warmed up. Temp on Monday morning still reads at 75, but it will likely continue to fall until DPR and Dunbar decide who is responsible for paying to fix the boiler. Yes, that’s right! Though DPR contracted with the school about three years ago to open up to the public their gorgeous pool, their contract apparently didn’t cover who pays when things break! That’s the word from those on the ground and why someone just started to fix the boiler on Saturday (they are reportedly working on it today as well) though it’s been broken for almost a month. First world problems — I know. But, for those swimmers out there for whom this pool is a favorite (the life guards are the friendliest bunch in town), definitely a chilly way to start or end the day.”
