I’ve passed this park a number of times located at 10th and French streets. For some reason there has always been a chain link fence around it. Does anyone know what the story is with this space. Seem like it could be a pretty cool little park.  Although I’m not sure what’s up with that pyramid type structure in the middle.  Anyone?

Sweet, a checkers club! Too cool. I was never any good at Chess but I never thought there were others that shared my passion for checkers. Oh, it’s on now…

I saw some work going on this weekend at EXPO located at 1928 9th Street. One of the workers said that there is a restaurant upstairs that is already open and there will be a cafe opening up on the first floor. The goal is to open by this Wednesday. This is the middle of “Little Ethiopia” so I assume the restaurant is Ethiopian. I should’ve investigated more. I’m pretty psyched to see what the cafe is going to look like though.

The flyer says: “GORGEOUS OPEN LAYOUT RENOVATION! 1 BLOCK TO METRO! LOWER LEVEL UNIT! Kitchen with honed granite/espresso cabinets and Fisher/Paykel DW. Huge open living/dining area with lit sculpture niches bright bay window. Upstairs gorgeous, spacious master suite with double granite vanity. Hardwood floors throughout. Back deck, plust LL 1BR unit.”

943 T ST NW, WASHINGTON, DC – $725,000

It may be under contract according to this listing but still is this a good deal or not?

This house is a beaut. I can’t tell if it will be residential or commercial or both. Doesn’t the windows in the front make it look like there will be some commercial as well?  The brick is great though, yeah?

Very subtle. If you lived in a row house and a row house next door to you were converted into a church, would you be pissed?

Thanks to a reader for alerting me to this cool building. His email said it was a triangle building located near the new Floridian Condos on 9th by the 9:30 club. So it only took me about a half an hour walking up and down 9th street before I gave up and finally found it on 10th Street. It was well worth the journey though as this is a wild building. Do you like the style. Ed. note: I’m still cursing my camera for taking these damn whacked pictures. Check out another angle after the jump. (more…)

I was trying to get another good contrast of old school row houses against the backdrop of a new condo building but I’m not sure this one worked. For some reason, I really do enjoy checking out the back of well maintained strips of row houses.
