Thanks to a commenter for sharing:
“I stopped by Mr P’s Ribs and Fish in Shaw on 6th and Rhode Island and they provided some information. They should be open in the next week or two, they plan to have outdoor tables there so you can eat there (assume that means they will sell canned drinks or something) and will start with their regular weekend hours and potentially expand into the week if there is a market for it. He also said they are STILL at the old Rhode Island Shopping center that they previously where but that they were moved to another place in the parking lot, so people just don’t see them right away.”

A new building is going up next to Shaw’s Tavern at 1839 6th St, NW. A building permit reveals it will be a 7 unit building by a company called The Ella, LLC. Not to be mistaken with this Ella. Looks like we’re running out of names to swagger jack…

Back in May we learned that Italy Pizza had closed at 634 Florida Ave, NW just east of 7th St/Georgia and near the Howard Theatre. Some may have noticed the front was painted – I finally was able to talk to some workers at the space and they tell me it will become pizza again in a few weeks. Not sure of the name or who exactly the owners will be but I’ll be sure to update with more info including the menu when they open. I hope the pizza is as good as the slices used to be at Italy Pizza. Stay tuned.

The alley behind the Ethiopian Restaurant, Zenebech Injera, located at 608 Florida Ave, NW near the Howard Theatre gets even more art. Thanks to a reader for sending word about the new mural from artist Joel Bergner.
The Duke Ellington Plaza and its surroundings is brimming with art:

624 T Street, NW
I was psyched to see coming soon signage posted for Right Proper Brewing Company:

Back in June we noted Right Proper had applied for a liquor license. We also noted they were begining to build out their front windows with copper edges. Now you can see the space is really looking amazing. It’s located right next to the Howard Theatre east of 7th Street. Their website says they should open this Fall. Stay tuned.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that Mr. P’s is coming to Shaw at the corner of 6th and Rhode Island Ave, NW. They are currently located at 514 Rhode Island Ave, NE. Anyone ever try them at that location?
