3632 Georgia Ave, NW

Ed. Note: Rejoice textdoc et al, after a long and bloody neighborhood boundary battle I’m ceding back the 3600 of Georgia Ave to Park View. I haven’t anymore fight left in me and at this point I don’t want to confuse folks. So there you have it, I surrender. I surrender.

Thanks to Dan for solving the mystery at the (new/old) Marrakech Moroccan Restaurant space. Not sure what happened to Marrakech but it looks like mr. braxton Bar&Kitchen is taking over the space: (more…)

Thanks to Daniel for sending: “This delightful new mural made my morning. It’s on the wall of Mister Rotisserie, a corner store and carry-out at Georgia and Park opposite the old Cadillacs Special lot.”

“Dear PoPville,

Update: I walked out the house [Saturday] to get my weekly stash of fresh bagels from Call Your Mother and came upon new activity at Georgia Ave. and Morton Street NW. This time crews appear to be either modifying or removing the islands.

Within about a week of the initial installation the islands had proper and plentiful signage and the lanes had been properly marked. I’m definitely curious about what’s happening here.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I don’t have any information on any incidents at this intersection or any others nearby, however, I have seen a number of instances when pedestrians attempting to cross Georgia Avenue in my neighborhood have almost been killed or severely injured by drivers that do not yield to pedestrians attempting to cross.
