Readers report: “Heard 8-12 gunshots at 4:30ish at R and Florida.”

“8-12 shots at least one hit at playground on Fla Ave/1st in Bloomingdale – fla Ave is shut down”

“Just heard 15+ rapid fire gunshots — in Bloomingdale – police now responding — in the direction of @bigbearcafe”

“They seemed to take two people away in ambulances”

Update from MPD: “Alert: Shooting investigation at 1633 hrs in the 100 block Florida Ave. NW. Lookout for a black SUV with unknown tags, last seen traveling eastbound on Florida Ave. NW.

This morning I was awoken by a chainsaw outside my building, by the S street dog park in Dupont, and saw that DC was felling one of the two large trees outside (on the 1800 block of New Hampshire Ave, NW, picture attached). “Dear PoPville,

I just found out the CVS at 435 8th St NW is closing 10/26. This CVS and their AMAZING pharmacist Denise have been serving our neighborhood for 26 years. I want to do everything I can to have them stay open. Can you please help? Do you have any ideas on how I can do this?”
