The award-winning craft brewpub, along with its food partner Andy’s Pizza, plans to feature a large tap room, outdoor seating, and brewery operations. Atlas Brew Works is the anchor retail tenant at The Douglass, which is currently the largest multifamily development to pursue Zero Carbon Certification from the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), and the only one in the DC area. “My last newsletter outlined the Departments of General Services and Parks and Recreation’s failure to reopen the Wilson Aquatic Center in a timely manner. After I urged leaders of both departments to implement short-term repairs to address issues with humidity and ventilation, reopening is finally in sight.

DGS recently installed temporary HVAC units to address ventilation problems inside the facility. Following health and safety inspections, the aquatic center will be able to re-open, hopefully within the next three weeks. If the temporary units do not last as an interim solution, the aquatic center may need to close again. (more…)

Thanks to G. for sending: “Last night at about 4:15am, 2000 block of 12th St., NW. Apparently no injuries, ambulance and fire trucks left before car was righted.”

Z. writes: “Last night around 9:30 two cars raced down Girard between 14 and 15, one appeared to be chasing the other, and they were shooting at each other out their windows. Police ended up closing off a bunch of streets, but I haven’t seen any details yet. Was right in front of my apartment building”
