“Dear PoPville,

Assault with deadly weapon on Mt. Pleasant St NW on Sunday, November 19th at 12pm

On Sunday, November 19th at 12pm, I was sitting on the Sun’s Cinema patio on Mt. Pleasant Street NW with two friends. We were eating lunch with our two dogs when we were approached by an agitated individual known in the neighborhood.

The dogs began to bark, and this person became activated and started yelling threats. I was unable to de-escalate the situation. (more…)

DC Fire and EMS reported: “Box Alarm 4400 block Wisconsin Ave NW. Dumpster fire extended to 2 story mixed use building.”

“Working Fire 4400 block Wisconsin Ave NW. Dumpster fire in rear extended into 1st and 2nd floors 2 story end row commercial building. Visible fire extinguished. Checking for extension. No injuries reported.”

“Update Working Fire 4400 block Wisconsin Ave NW. Fire under control with no injuries reported. Our units also extinguished 3 additional outside fires in the area. Fire investigators looking into the circumstances of all 4 incidents.”

Breaking: The Dupont Circle Fountain is Back in Action!!

Official word from NPS: “After an extensive rehabilitation project, the Dupont Circle Fountain is flowing again. Now properly balanced and waterproofed, the fountain will run until cold temperatures required it to be winterized.”
