“Dear PoPville,
I found a gold ring with large stone on NY Ave NW between 9th and 10th, I stuck around for a few minutes but no one came looking for it so I panic decided to pick it up and let you know. Fingers crossed it’s someone local that knows to ping you!”
If this is your ring and you can describe it please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch with OP to see if it’s the one.

We shared the news about this hotdog selling sensation on October 24, 2025 at 11:15AM and now there’s a helluva update:
“SHIRT OFF MY BACK, PART II: I write to share that a kind gentleman has, in fact, purchased the shirt off my back for $1000. Lands’ End, dress, French Blue. For artistic integrity and out of respect for his privacy, I took no photos, but perhaps some exist. The SHYSTGEIST is in full swing. Thank you all!”
The dude is seriously already a legend, as one who truly loves RC Cola – here’s his latest note:
“I write here to report that my friend James (left) drove for over 7 hours yesterday, from Johnson City, TN, all the way to the District, simply to relieve our RC Cola situation. I figure 1,992 cans should hold us for awhile.
While fun and laughter are essential to the human spirit, sometimes it’s also important to pause to give situations the dignity and solemnity they deserve. James is an Iraq combat veteran who took time away from his family to help us. James: thank you for your service to this country.”
If you lucky you can catch him at the “Intersection of M St. NE and 1st St. NE” usually around 12-5pm.

Thanks to Taylor for sending the finished sign: “Check out what is going into the old Big Hunt space in Dupont Circle.”
Totally wild, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this…
Gotta be opening any day now, stay tuned.
