The liquor license placard for Lupo Alimentari & Vineri says:

“New C Restaurant with a Total Occupancy Load of 115 seats. Applicant requests to have an Entertainment Endorsement and a Sidewalk Café with seating for 14 patrons.”

The Washington Business Journal previously reported:

“The restaurant may add “osteria” or another designation to its name but it will be called Lupo Verde, and it will bring the 14th Street restaurant’s signature homemade pastas, along with an expanded menu of entrees including steak, and chef Domenico Apollaro’s porchetta.”

Stay tuned for an opening date.

4883 MacArthur Boulevard, NW via BlackSalt

From a press release:

“On Monday, September 28, BlackSalt Fish Market and Restaurant will close for renovations. The seafood-centric restaurant and fish market has had a successful 11 year run, building a strong following in the Palisades neighborhood and beyond. Jeff Black says “we owe our loyal guests and committed patrons a refresh of the space and concept.” Design fabricator and consultant, Molly Allen of Atreus Works will collaborate with Jeff and Barbara Black on the remodel. During the renovation, both the fish market and restaurant will be closed to the public.

The restaurant will reopen later this fall, and an opening date will be announced when the works are close to complete. Just in time for the opening, Executive Chef Mike Huff, known for his pastas and exquisite seafood prep, will add some new dishes to the menu, while sommelier Joshua Pauley will expand the wine list with some exciting selections.”

“They put a new façade on the building for Seventh Hill pizza, next to Blacksalt, in the Palisades.”

Back in July we first learned 7th Hill pizza (from Eastern Market) were opening a 2nd location in the former Marvelous Market space next to Blacksalt.

However in more positive news looks like the folks from 7th Hill Pizza (by Eastern Market) are opening up a spot in the Palisades at the former Marvelous Market space next to Blacksalt. A liquor license placard posted out front says:

“7TH Hill Restaurant Inc

To prepare and sell pizza and prepared pizzeria food products
Recorded music, Sidewalk Café with #25 seats, total Occupancy Load #85”

Hours are listed as Sunday through Thursday: 7am – 2am, Friday and Saturday: 7am – 3am.
