Steadfast Supply, a weekend retail market celebrating DC-area makers and creatives, is excited to open in The Yards neighborhood on October 7th with retail running through the end of 2016. The concept space is housed in a 4,000 square feet space inside Arris (at the corner of 4th and Water Street), a revelation for DC apartment living located at The Yards. The space will offer unique retail brands and creative organizations (from DC and beyond) an exclusive opportunity to be a part of the growing Yards neighborhood, inspiring them to thrive, grow their businesses, and make Washington, DC their own. In turn, the space will play an active role in connecting Washingtonians with local creative minds helping build community and meaningful relationships. (more…)

Excited to see how this turns out from the folks behind Brooklyn Winery:

“District Winery will occupy 16,000 SF as the sole tenant of a new pavilion building to be developed by Forest City just east of the existing Lumber Shed. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2016 with opening projected for fall 2017.”

Their website adds:

“From the team behind Brooklyn Winery, District Winery will produce small batch artisanal wines on site. This new space will also offer a restaurant featuring refined cuisine and a full service private event venue ideal for elegant weddings, corporate gatherings, and other celebrations. Coming 2017 to The Yards.”

“I’m getting ready to move back to DC after a 2 year hiatus. There are some interesting places in the Capitol Waterfront/Navy Yard area, but I’m wondering about the neighborhood. I loved living in Logan Circle before, wondering how they compare and what ppl think of this newly developing area. Thanks in advance!!!”
