The Salt Line Navy Yard Christmas Tree Lot benefiting the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation opens Friday

“The Salt Line is once again hosting a Christmas tree lot at its Navy Yard location. Now in its 11th year, the Christmas tree lot will offer Fraser and Balsam firs ranging in sizes from tabletop to 12 feet tall, as well as tree stands, wreaths, garlands, and ornaments. 100% of sales proceeds benefit the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the rehabilitation and recovery of injured firefighters and burn patients. The lot will be open daily starting Friday, November 25, until inventory is sold out. Anyone who purchases a tree will receive a free hot cocktail from The Salt Line.

“Worst intersection in the neighborhood to walk through, lucky that this doesn’t happen more often.

The M Street drag strip from the Wharf all the way to the Southeast Freeway is pretty terrible, but it’s at its worst where it sees a lot of pedestrian crossings. I really hope nobody was injured, but especially that no pedestrians were involved.”

“On Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at approximately 4:23pm, collaborative efforts by US Capitol Police, First District’s Crime Suppression Team, and MPD’s air support responded to the 100 block of M ST SE where they made the arrest of three individuals for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. “It was SO loud. Can’t say anymore, ‘I don’t even know what a gunshot sounds like’.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in the 1200 Block of Half Street, Southeast.

At approximately 6:55 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a potential gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers and a firearm was recovered on scene. Investigation revealed that this offense was the result of a dispute between known parties. The suspect discharged the firearm into an establishment causing the victim’s injury. (more…)
