Thanks to Terry for passing on

The purpose of this event is to provide the Mt. Pleasant community with an in-person forum to learn more about their home value, the assessment process, and tax programs to reduce their tax bill. We feel this is a timely event because real property tax assessment notices are being mailed to District property owners this week. The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 7 from 6:30 – 8:00pm. The presenters include:

Deputy Chief Financial Officer Keith Richardson
OTR Director of Operations Eva Liggins
Chief DC Appraiser Olufemi Omotoso
Tax Relief Specialist Jeffrey Toney

We will also have additional staff on hand in case attendees have other questions related to OTR. This is a great opportunity for OTR to directly engage with Mt. Pleasant”

“Dear PoPville,

I am writing to you to let you know of this amazing music community that started one year ago and has flourished. They just had their one year anniversary and I heard the story for the first time. Apparently two Mt. Pleasant neighborhood people noticed an unused piano at Purple Patch, and they approached the owner, and one thing led to another and they started Open Piano nights. It’s a amazing community of pianists that come play a variety of tunes, from ragtime, to jazz, or classical. Anyone who wants to come play, plays. I just want the rest of D.C. to know about this great piano community.”

“Dear PoPville,

Has anyone heard details of the shooting that took place around 4:45/5am this morning on 16th and Columbia? We think it may have been near the All Souls Church. We live in the Argonne and woke up to 4 distinct gunshots. Shortly after, cop cars pulled up and my wife saw police interviewing a possible witness. They didn’t stay long and all returned to normal.”

Of course some jackwagon tagged it but still!!

“Dear PoPville,

Good thing from this weekend: I finally got my Little Free Record Library up and running. It’s been getting a lot of use.

Bad thing from this weekend: Somebody decided to let me know they were there. Anybody recognize this tag?
