Thanks to Jim for sending the shot above yesterday from Jeff Bezos’ house around 4:45pm: “Just walked by his house in Kalorama and found this in the street at his front door. Police had the street blocked off and someone appeared to be about to pressure wash it away…”

From a press release: “Today, a team of activists with La ColectiVA and ShutDownDC painted a mural on the street in front of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ DC home. The mural read “PROTECT AMAZON WORKERS” in massive letters stretching from curb to curb. (more…)

Thanks to Victoria for sending: ” I found this empty can of sardines from the old Sea Lion canning factory in Lubec, Maine, which closed a decade ago. From the look of the closing mechanism I’m guessing it’s from the forties. Neat!”

Streets Market Finally Opening in Adams Morgan “Next Week”!!

Thanks to the approximately 6,245 folks who sent emails about the new signage. In case it wasn’t clear, neighbors are moderately excited about this. I spoke with the owners and should have more clarity tomorrow about when exactly they will open next week. STANDBY.

This is the former Metro K grocery store that closed at the end of November 2018.
