Kelsey reports: “I saw on Dio’s Wine Bar that someone broke their window with a rock and stole a bunch of wine. Just like many in DC, they are trying to stay afloat and keep employees paid, and this is probably a big hit for them. Thought maybe you could post it in case anyone saw anything, and also a reminder that Dio has been operating as a wine shop, and will continue to do deliveries and pick ups, and has a go fund me going.” (more…)

Update from MPD:
“Good evening. At approximately 3:50pm, officers from the Third District were on patrol in the area of 13th and Columbia Rd NW when they heard the sounds of gunshots. The officers observed a moped exit the area at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop the operator to investigate. The vehicle fled from the officers who pursued it with the assistance of our Air Support Unit. Ultimately, the moped was stopped in the area of 3rd and F Streets NE where the operator was apprehended. Fortunately, there were no accidents or injuries as a result of this pursuit. (more…)

In an attempt to not be totally doom and gloom – I’ll assume this is still happening although, I guess we should take all ‘coming soon’ posts with a grain of salt, no pun intended. Thanks to a reader for sending word that Brine is coming to the former Outsider space which closed in October 2019. Previously this space was home to H Street Coffee and SOVA before them. I’m assuming Brine will be some sorta seafood restaurant. Stay tuned and fingers crossed.

A reader reports: “Just want to warn folks about a group of young males (maybe 10-12) on JUMP Bikes accosting people South of H ST NE & West of Kingsman Park. I was driving Tuesday (3/17) down 14th ST NE when I came to the stop sign (F ST NE) where they were stopped on the corner at 3:34pm. My window was rolled down and one of the kids yelled “THE F*** YOU LOOKING AT” then punched me in the face. Filed a police report but MPD said these guys have been wreaking havoc all week. If everyone could keep an eye out & stay safe out there!”
