Thanks to a reader for sending: “ran by the Brooks Brothers store on Connecticut in Dupont, and appears that a number of “Retail space available” signs went up over the weekend. Website confirms the location is now closed permanently. Between this and the Georgetown location closure, may be the death knell for Brooks Brothers in DC.” (more…)

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2020, in the 5200 block of Western Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 7:39 pm, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. Mazza Gallerie’s (5300 Wisconsin Avenue, NW) website says: “Since 1978 Mazza Gallerie has served as DC’s choice for upscale retail and entertainment. Boasting 3 levels of shops and eateries and a full level movie theatre, Mazza Gallerie is a premiere destination for fun and shopping.”

Updates when we learn what happens with the foreclosure.

Not a great parking job, but it’s okay. Because if you look closely at the rear window, there is a homemade sign that reads “NEW DRIVER.” We were thinking that there should probably also be one that states “NEW PARKER.”
