I told you this season of Coffee Wars was the best!! Thanks to Ken for sending the Gregorys Coffee update:
“They are very close to opening and have announced they will open on Monday, Nov. 20th at 6 am!”
With multiple locations in New York City, Gregorys website says:

My sources deep in the sacks tell me both 800 17th Street, NW and 1401 I Street, NW will open for business on December 15th.
Back in September we learned that Maison Kayser was coming to 7th and Mass Ave, NW. Looks like another one is coming to F Street too – across from the National Press building between 13th and 14th. My people familiar with Maison Kayser tell me that this is very good news indeed.

1730 Pennsylvania Ave, NW via GCDC
From a press release:
“GCDC, Washington’s first and only grilled cheese-centric restaurant and bar, will be offering the “Gobbler” to kickstart the holiday season with roasted turkey from Singer’s Significant Meats, a special blend of gruyere cheese, and GCDC’s own tater tot stuffing with a side of gravy of course! The special will run for both lunch and dinner until we sell out.
Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., until we sell out.”
1100 Pennsylvania Ave, NW
It says:
“New Restaurant, offering sushi in the omasake style and crafting a tasting menu within the style of Edomae sushi. Total Occupancy Load is 70 with seating for 60.”
Sushi Nakazawa is not without controversy.

Smith & Wollensky closed back in March 2016. Bisnow reported in November:
“After opening its first DC-area AC Hotel at National Harbor, above, Marriott is bringing the Millennial-targeted brand to Dupont Circle. South Carolina-based OTO Development plans to open the 219-room hotel at the former Smith & Wollensky restaurant site on 19th Street, the Washington Business Journal reports.”
