I like Ruby Tuesday. Ok, I’m a little embarrassed to admit it. And I’m not saying I want blocks and blocks of chain restaurants but if I want to stuff my face with cheap tasty food and have a huge sundae for dessert I’m glad I have that option at Ruby Tuesday. Truth be known, I’d rather have an Olive Garden but I’ll take what I can get.

Believe me, I am super psyched to have real authentic ethnic restaurants, I’m just saying one little chain isn’t so bad (as long as its not a slippery slope). So be brave, admit it too, you kind of like Ruby Tuesday…

According to Fox News Channel 5 four people were shot on 14th and Harvard this evening. I wasn’t able to find a full article on their Web site but I will update tomorrow morning.

And here is the article from the Washington Times.

The article finishes with a quote: “Whatever police are doing is not working,” said Council member Jim Graham, Ward 1 Democrat. “This is a real setback.”

Has anyone checked out this international supermarket on upper 14th St.? (Damn, I forget the cross street.) I didn’t have a chance to check it out yet but I bet you could find some sweet delicacies there. So tell me, am I wrong?

You didn’t think I’d forget about mural of the week right? Well, this is a proper mural done on an abandoned building. I like the trees but I’m not to sure what is going on in the middle, maybe some freelance addition…

I believe this is the huge deal that is going to be demolished and redeveloped soon on lower 14th St. near Chapin and Florida.

It looks like the Allegro condos just north of the Dance Institute on 14th St. is going up at about the same pace as the Park Place condos going up over the Petworth metro. I wonder if they are completed around the same time who is going to win out…

Have you ever noticed that there is a bus that comes to 11th Street in Columbia Heights and goes straight to AC? I kind of feel like that is awesome. But then I have visions of the elderly sitting behind slot machines and losing lots of dough…

Actually, I don’t and I hate that quote from the brilliant movie Dazed and Confused but damn it makes for a good title. At any rate, The Dance Institute of DC in Columbia Heights is offering classes to those between the ages of 4-18. That’s pretty cool.

First of all let me give credit to the organizers of this wonderful festival. I think for the first ever Columbia Heights Day, they did a fantastic job. Having said that, I can’t help but think was this Columbia Heights Day or Wonderland Day? I went to the festival three times between noon and 4pm and each time there were maybe 25-30 people milling about while in Wonderland there must have been 3 times that number. I should add that all of the live music I heard was fantastic.

But you can see that Wonderland was quite a bit more crowded than the actual festival. Maybe that is because we are just a bunch of lushes but it felt a little funny to me. Maybe next year there should be food/drink vendors on the actual festival site? So what are your thoughts on Columbia Heights Day?
