Matt first asked around 6:30pm: “big police and ambulance presence in Tivoli Park in Columbia Heights. Area taped off. Any word what happened? Everyone ok?”
Angelica replied around 7:30pm: “Stabbing in the plaza. Please avoid the area for now.”
Ed. Note: MPD made two arrests for stabbings nearby here on Sunday morning.

Been getting a few messages about this over the last couple weeks. Most recently TJ reports:
“looks like they took down all the Choong Man branding from the windows. Dont know whats going on with the menu, if they still have chicken. I am fascinated by the constant concept overhauls over the last few years…”

“The Third District is investigating 2 related adw knife incidents early this morning. The incidents took place in the 3300 block of 16th street and 1400 Columbia Rd NW. both victims received minor lacerations.
2 arrests have been made and the victims and suspects are all acquaintances.” (more…)

Last night was pretty crazy and to be honest a bit hard to follow. This is what we know for sure from MPD around 9pm:
“Shooting at 14th & Meridian Pl NW Lookout is for 3 b/m’s mid 20’s wearing all black clothing with hoodies. last seen running westbound across 14th Street NW.”
Josh reported: “4-5 gunshots”
Side note: One reader tells us, “Watched the fire truck and ambulance who were going to the scene be delayed for almost 5 minutes because a MD driver couldn’t back down Meridian Pl to get out of the way.”
