I sorta did a double take when I was walking down Porter this weekend from Cleveland Park towards Beach Drive and Mt. Pleasant. But when I took a closer look, it was def. some sorta street art/political statement. Some other walkers came over and I asked them what they thought. They said they found it, “Striking”. I’ll go on the record and say I like it.

What do you guys think?

Couple more shots after the jump. (more…)

Fro Zen Yo continues to it’s take over of the DC frozen yogurt scene… A couple of weeks ago we learned that Fro Zen Yo will also be opening up a spot at 1636 I St, NW. Though, I suspect this new location, slated to open at 3000 Connecticut Ave, NW, located directly across the street from the zoo, is going to make approximately a zillion dollars when the weather warms up again. Well done, Fro Zen Yo, nicely played!

Secure building with key fob or call-in access. Apartment is on 3rd floor, although because the building is built on a hill, the main lobby entrance is on the same level, and the picture window is equivalent to five floors up.

Electricity and water are included in the rent.”

Does $1300 sound reasonable for this studio?

I’m not sure if that’s a fridge in the living room (photo above) even if it is do you think $1250 sounds reasonable for a studio here?

Looks like Tackle Box coming this winter isn’t the only big news for the 3300 block of Connecticut Ave, NW. Thanks to a reader for sending news about an online auction:

“Ardeo and Bardeo Restaurant a Washington DC icon is changing their concept and completely renovating both locations. All dining, lounge and cosmetic furniture and fixtures will be liquidated by internet only auction.”

So if you really really loved either location you now have a chance to make their decor a part of your home…

Back in June we learned that Tackle Box would be opening up another location in Cleveland Park at 3407 Connecticut Ave, NW in the long vacated McDonald’s space. There had been lots of false rumors about 3407 Connecticut Ave, NW and from June until just recently there was very little movement. So when I walked by a couple days ago, I was psyched to see the sign in the window. Also DCRA permits were posted for the first time and it looks like the space has been completely gutted. (Also cool, how the sign projects on the floor.) And Winter 2011 is right around the corner…

Looks like the Porter Street Residences are 99% completed (from the outside at least). It is located on located on Porter St, NW east of Connecticut toward Rock Creek Park and Mt. Pleasant. We last checked in on them back in July. I know some folks will disagree with me, but overall I think they came out looking pretty good.
