“DC-based fast casual restaurant &pizza will be opening their Adams Morgan location at 2465 18th St NW on Tuesday at 11:00am. This is the popular chain’s 25th location and they will be open:

Sunday through Wednesday 11am – 11pm
Thursday 11am – 12am
Friday & Saturday 11am – 4am

In honor of opening their 25th location, they will be giving away 125 free pizzas to the first 125 people in line. Also, the first 25 people to request the & tattoo will get one for free + free pizza for a year.”

“Since our October gathering at Madam’s Organ, the SaveOurPlaza team has been quite busy preparing for our upcoming legal trial. In April 2018, a jury of twelve peers will determine the fate of the Suntrust plaza permanently. They will decide whether the plaza stays open and available for free public use or is crushed by more luxury condos and stifling the air and clogging the pedestrian/transit area at the corner of 18th and Columbia Road NW in the center of Adams Morgan.

Mark It – “The Room” showing on Grand Duchess big screen next Tuesday

“Next Tuesday we will be playing the cult classic “The Room” on the big screen projector. We will also be handing out free plastic spoons to our guests for throwing, which is the tradition among the film’s devotees — to throw spoons at the screen. Movies are starting at 8 now.

Of course this times up with the release of the James Franco directed “The Disaster Artist,” which is based on the making of film.”

Adams Morgan’s Ethiopian Resurgence continues with Infusion Club and Restaurant coming to former Chief Ike’s space

Chief Ike’s closed after 25 years in March 2015.

The liquor license placard says:

“Infusion Club and Restaurant

A new Tavern serving Ethiopian cuisine. Seating capacity of 350 inside. Total Occupancy Load of 600. Sidewalk Cafe with 30 seats. Requesting an Entertainment Endorsement, with Dancing and Cover Charge.”

Based on the size, I wonder if this will also be taking the adjacent space that was set to become, with coming soon signage still up, Villa Tuscana.

Infusion will join other recent Ethiopian arrivals to Adams Morgan – Zenebech Injera, Quara, Ababa, and Asmara, not to mention Adams Morgan Cafe.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District announced three arrests have been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Belt Buckle) offense that occurred in the 2200 block of 18th Street, Northwest, on Saturday, November 25, 2017.

At approximately 7:05 pm, a group of suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects approached a victim and began to assault him with a belt buckle. The victim fell to the ground and a second suspect began to kick the victim. The second victim dropped his bag and went to intervene. (more…)
