Petworth, yes, this is what the Petworth Safeway aka the Smelly or Stinky Safeway, looked like back in the day and my God did it stink (though super nice staff.)

After a friendly debate with her friend, a friend of mine requests that we put together the definitive list of Safeway nicknames. [Ed. “Tony Blanco, a former Nationals player tragically passed away in the Dominican Republic after a nightclub ceiling collapsed”

Tony Blanco, a former Nationals player (he played 56 games for the Nats, including in the team’s very first game), tragically passed away in the Dominican Republic after a nightclub ceiling collapsed during a concert. Over 220 people lost their lives in the accident.”

Archeological Finds Vol. 103 – “Whirick & Weller”

“Dug this up in the back yard, it’s a cast iron rectangle about 16×24. As close as I can tell it says “Whirick & Weller Charlestown WV. Google has nothing about what it might have been.”
