“Dear PoPville,

I have been going to 305 Dance Cardio classes in Manhattan Alley (13th and Florida, snuggled next to Maydan) and sadly the studio closes at the end of the month (they cited CoVid/gym mask mandates as the culprit). They told us Vida Fitness will host some of their Miami-style dance cardio classes and will still hold some outdoor classes in the DC area, but I was wondering if you could ask the masses for their recommendations for fun dance workout classes in the U Street/Co-Hi area. It could be within gyms too – I am looking at all my options. I have been going to this studio now for years and it’s my main form of intense exercise (and it’s FUN!!)”

“Dear PoPville,

I figured I’d give this a shot because google has led me down a rabbit hole to broken links. But does anyone know of any gyms that currently offer childcare?

I would love to know what other DC residents are doing because these parents just want to shed the COVID weight without having to spend a grip on babysitters on top of daycare.”

Thanks to all who passed on the sad news from BodySmith:

“Dear BodySmith Clients, Members, and Employees

Good morning!

While I know we are all tired of wearing our masks, especially while working hard in the gym, I believe the majority of our members and personal training clients have become used to it and appreciate the feeling of safety when all in the gym remain fully masked. For this reason, BodySmith will remain a fully masked safe space for as long as we do business in DC…which brings me to the other important subject of this email.

It is likely that BodySmith will be closing at the end of March. (more…)
