“Dear PoPville,

I thought you might be interested in knowing that the H Street Development Corporation recently announced the end of the Wylie Street Garden. Though this property has been for sale for some time, HSCDC CEO Brewer informed us today that we must vacate, due to a supposed sale of the property in the next few months.”

“We live in Hill East. These troopers survived a scooter ride across town and falling more than 8 feet into a neighbor’s yard on a windy day, and are still producing Thai hot peppers and habaneros in December!”

From Hill East. “Green tomatoes – excellent topping for pork when stewed with something sweet; and New Zealand Kamo Kamo squash.”

“Wanted to share my garden haul – the last of the tomatoes from the Buell Farm. The midgets actually won the blue ribbon in the Tastiest Tomato category at the DC State Fair the other weekend!”

Ed. Note: Entries are now closed – thanks to all for sending photos!

“This is what our daily haul is looking like. Our one sungold plant has literally grown over the large heirloom tomato types, so we are only getting only one type of tomato these days. But it could be worse!”

Ed. Note: Last week to get your entries in – send an email to [email protected] with Garden Haul in the title and please include the neighborhood where you grew it.

“Tuesday haul – tomatillos, habaneros, bell peppers, marconi peppers, ichiban eggplant, banana peppers, and a lone tomato buried in there somewhere. Grown in pots on my Dupont roof.”

Ed. Note: When your gardens start to get full of tomatoes, cucumbers, whatever you’re growing – send an email to [email protected] with Garden Haul in the title and please include the neighborhood where you grew it. Labor Day is the cut off to send yours in!
