“Dear PoPville,

Our condo association needs a new roof and some of our longest term residents are unable to afford the assessment, which will be in the thousands of dollars per unit.

These are folks who have often spent their whole lives in DC — many of whom are now retired, women, and people of color. We’ve reached out to numerous agencies in DC and while some protections exist for low income renters and house owners, condo owners fall through the cracks.

We’d be grateful for any contribution folks could make, large or small. Thanks!

“Christmas in July is back, this year on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Dacha Beer Garden located at 1600 7th St. NW Washington, DC, which will benefit N Street Village. The Village is the district’s largest nonprofit serving homeless and low income women.

There will be festive drink specials courtesy of Dacha, a real life Santa Claus, Christmas music, a candy cane raffle and other fun holiday activities. Holiday attire is strongly encouraged!

Baby Fawn Rescue Fundraiser

“Dear PoPville,

We found a very small baby fawn (could barely walk) next to her mother who was killed.

There was nobody in the DC area that would take her, she was due to be euthanized since her mom was dead. My fiance I an said absolutely not and took her to the closest rescue who would accept her, which was Friskys Wildlife Rehabilitation. They’re county, state, and federally licensed but since they’re a 501 (c) 3 Organization they don’t receive ANY funding. The estimated cost for the fawns care is $1,350 dollars for 4.5 months. I have all the paperwork for tax deductions, General info about the wildlife center, EVERYTHING. I would be willing to get it for anyone willing to help.

The people who own the rehab were a old husband and wife duo. So sweet and nice.
