Thanks to Shawness for reporting: “Woke up to smelling smoke at 4:30….found the 7-11 at 7th and Rhode Island had burned. Huge response by fire department. Looks like severe damage.”
DC Fire and EMS reported: “Update Working Fire 7-11 Rhode Island Ave & 7th St NW. #DCsBravest have the fire under control with no injuries. Investigators on scene to determine cause.”

“9 patients transported to Thompson’s Boathouse from the Potomac River have been evaluated by #DCsBravest & do not require any medical treatment. 3 others were removed to Va. shore by @DCPoliceDept Harbor Unit and subsequently left the scene.”

“My neighbor witnessed a group of people setting fire to a garbage can and then a large Dumpster outside a townhouse that’s under construction on the block of Vermont Ave between N St. and Logan Circle.
