Neighbors on Kansas Ave in Petworth suffered a devastating house fire over the long weekend. All were safely evacuated but they lost everything and are now displaced. The smoke was terrifying. The people of Petworth will certainly rally to support them but I thought it may help to get the word out if anyone else is willing to pitch in.”

“As many have heard, yesterday my mother’s home that she shared with my 91 year old grandfather caught fire last night and was deemed condemned. The house has been in our family for nearly 60 years. DC Fire and EMS and reported: “This was the scene that greeted #DCsBravest when they arrived at the scene of the Working Fire in the unit block of Bryant St. NW. Despite the intensity of the flames, they prevented the blaze from extending to the 3rd floor or to adjacent homes.”
First reported at 7:30pm Sunday: “Box Alarm unit block Bryant St NW. Smoke showing 2nd floor of 3 story middle row dwelling.”
