The long dedicated bike lane running along the west side of 15th street NW is a main bike artery through the city, but often causes a level of false confidence and safety to riders. People blowing down the bike lane near Meridian hill Park are met with the intersection of Florida, W, 15th, and New Hampshire, which has a very awkward traffic pattern and some blind spots. “Dear PoPville,

I’m in the process of renting out my space to a tenant that uses the DCHA voucher program. The tenant-to-be seems great, is doing all the paperwork on their end, and is ready to move in ASAP. The problem here is DCHA. We submitted the appropriate paperwork well over a month ago and to say they are moving slow is an understatement. They are taking days, if not weeks, to reply to us with really no movement towards approval. (more…)

Car is still out there in the street. A cop showed up at one point…looked at the car and ticket then called me back to say that I had to call 311 again. Which I did…again. “Dear PoPville,

At the nationals park the other week, I bought a beer from someone walking up and down the stands and was given the option of tipping 15, 20, or 25%. Later, I bought a second beer from someone at a concession stand and was told that “tipping is mandatory” — any idea how that works? I’m happy to tip, it just feels strange to mandate it and then call it a tip”
