I wanted to share a chat I had with Foxtrot customer service. They just opened their second store in Mount Vernon on Monday (first store in Georgetown at the beginning of March) but they only deliver to NW DC. I live less than a mile away from the new store, in NoMa, but can’t get delivery because I’m two blocks over in NE. Seems pretty ridiculous.”
Upon inquiry I received the following response from Foxtrot via email:
“As we continue to open stores in DC, we plan to have a footprint that reaches all Washingtonians. With that comes looking at expanding our delivery radius to the areas we are able to serve while still meeting our commitment of great, efficient delivery.”

“Dear PoPville,
I had my first Pfizer shot a few days ago in the morning (40s female with underlying medical condition). By afternoon, I had a pounding headache that lasted almost 8 hours – had to lie down in a dark room rest of the day.
I would love to hear from others on what their experience has been with vaccine shots as far as side effects, and what if anything people are doing to better prepare for their shots and mitigate/tolerate them better. (more…)

Spotted in Palisades, overlooking the Capital Crescent Trail and Canal Road. Thought it was a birdhouse at first, but on closer inspection it doesn’t seem to be. It has a CIA sticker on it, but given that it also has DC flag and Biden Harris stickers, I’m guessing it’s not spy-related. (OR IS IT?)”

Today (Saturday) I received two very confusing pieces of mail, and I’m curious if anyone else has had this happen.
I received a letter from DC LINK/Department of Human Services saying that to approve my application for SNAP benefits I need to submit some additional information and I received another letter with the Capital Access benefits card. BUT I never applied for these benefits and from my knowledge I do not qualify anyway. (more…)

I’m wondering if anyone knows what’s been going on with Uber and Lyft wait times and the prices lately?
A ride that usually would cost me $8 and 12 minutes is $28 and 30 minutes. Last night I gave up and took a taxi for the first time in ages for $10.”
