I wonder if you have been hearing from the folks in Adams Morgan about the DDOT disaster on Columbia Road NW?
I am referring to Columbia Road specifically, usually between 16th and Mintwwod. It feels like a Dr Seuss book, walking down Mulberry Street with trucks askew, blocking the crosswalks in the bike lanes, people almost getting run over trying to look around a hand truck filled with towering boxes crossing the street while cars are veering around to get by. In the triangle between Georgia Ave, Pine Branch Ave and Sheridan there’s TWO gas stations: an Exxon to the north and a BP to the South.
The BP is consistently more expensive than the Exxon, no big deal, right? Free Market.

Ed. Note: While I have no doubt that “seat fillers” is a real thing, I thought for sure this listing was fake/satire. But it’s still live so I’m wondering if it’s actually real? $1000 seems like a crazy amount for a seat filler. If it’s fake though, wouldn’t it have been removed by now? Is this thing real or fake? Because it’s still an active post – it’s gotta be for real, yes?

I am wondering if I could get some input from the community about alternative routes to DCA from the Dupont area during the upcoming military parade.
I have a business trip early Monday morning (6/16). My flight is at 6am and I see the road closures are in place until 6am on 6/16. Both routes I am aware of from the dupont area to DCA appear to be closed (Arlington Memorial Bridge and 14th St/I-395). (more…)
