“Dear PoPville,

I was walking in Dupont on 21st and P today (1/5) and noticed that the Valley Brook Tea shop closed! No signs and the space was cleared out. I saw that they moved to a temporary location in the Ven at Embassy Row Hotel around the corner.

I hope they survive since the shop is run by such a lovely couple and we desperately need tea places in the area!!”

From Valley Brook Tea:

“We’re moving to a temporary location inside The Ven at Embassy Row Hotel at 2015 Massachusetts Ave NW. We will reopen on this Friday, January 6th. We’ll be there for the next 2 months while we continue to figure out the future of Valley Brook Tea. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

This stretch of Columbia Road near Mintwood was repaved AND repainted just w-e-e-k-s ago – as in December. [Yesterday], it’s being dug up for the ongoing water line replacement project. This meets the definition of “crazy.”

Adam asked: “Does anyone know what this one single brick built into an underpass on 295 at Bennington Road is all about? What is DC 104?”

We’ve seen a similar one from the south end of Barracks Row and from the Underpass at RFK. At one time Mr.TinMD told us that:

“The upper logo, with the Capitol dome, is a remnant from the B&O railroad. I think they denote B&ORR bridges or something.”

If you have a photo of a neat find from your house, place of work or neighborhood please send an email to [email protected] thanks. Please let me know where/what neighborhood you found it in too. Thanks.

“Dear PoPville,

At about 11:30pm on the night of Friday Dec. 16th, I was on a personal stand-up electric scooter traveling eastbound on K st. NE between 6th and 8th. I hit a large pothole and fell breaking both elbows.

1. A Good Samaritan stopped and called 911 and i told him i owned the scooter but the ambulance did not take the scooter with me to the hospital. If someone could bring the scooter back to me, it would be appreciated. It is Segway Ninebot scooter.
