A reader reported from 15th and Isherwood NE: “At least 15 rounds fired, about two blocks from where the mass shooting in August took place.”

MPD wrote just before 6:30pm last night: “Shooting Investigation in the 1500 block of F St NE. Lookout is for a silver in color vehicle traveling northbound on 16th street NE.”

Update from readers: “More than just a smashed door. Someone was thrown through that this AM — it was a wild scene at like 8am. Guy got taken out on a stretcher.”

From MPD: “4D Stabbing. The Fourth District is investigating a stabbing that occurred on 3/12/23 at approximately 4:34 P.M. in the unit block of Grant Circle NW. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the body. The look for the suspect is an Hispanic Male wearing a green jacket and black pants. The suspect was last seen running northbound in the 4400 block of New Hampshire Ave NW.

From MPD: “Alert: Shooting Investigation at 2022 hrs. in the 400 block of 11th Street, SE. No Lookout at this time.”

A reply to MPD said: “The shooting started in the 900 block, but the car wreck and more shooting in the 500 block.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, March 12, 2023, in the 500 block of 11th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 8:25 pm, First District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting and a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers located two adult male shooting victims inside of a vehicle. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, one of the victims remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The second victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the second victim was pronounced dead. A third male, who was in the vehicle with the victims, was located at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the traffic crash.

One of the decedents has been identified as 34-year-old Othaniel Gaither, of Southeast, DC. The second decedent’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. (more…)
