Update: At approx 8:06 a.m., an MPD officer was flagged down for a potential armed robbery in the area of 8th Street & Florida Avenue, NW. It was reported that two potential suspects ran inside a building in the 2000 block of Georgia Ave and may be barricaded inside.” (more…)

My blue 2022 Gazelle Ultimate C380 Low 46cm Mallard e-bike was stolen from the corner of 7th & Q NW yesterday afternoon while I was having brunch at Ambar Shaw. The thieves used a portable grinder to cut through the lock. I have security camera video of the thief cutting through the lock and a lovely picture of him riding away on it! (more…)

“On February 14, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., MPD’s Criminal Apprehension Unit arrived in the 5000 block of Hanna Place Southeast to execute an arrest warrant.

Officers attempted to make contact with an individual inside the residence to execute the arrest warrant.

The individual refused to come outside.

As officers attempted to gain entry, the individual opened fire on them. (more…)

“The Metropolitan Police Department has expanded its Amazon Lockers Program, adding two additional lockers at police stations in Northwest.

Residential package thefts have been an ongoing nuisance impacting neighborhoods citywide, with thefts occurring year-round. In 2022, MPD piloted the Amazon Lockers Program at the Sixth District’s main station and substation, making DC the first city in the nation to install community Amazon lockers outside of police stations.
