“On Friday, June 26, 2020, two individuals were in a dispute near 14th and Shepherd when one of the subject’s produced a machete and cut the face of the other, then fled on foot. The other male suffered an injury to the face and was taken to the hospital.”

“This morning, members responded to the 600 block of Newton Place, NW, for sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, officers discovered numerous shell casings and property damage to vehicles and a building. At this time there are no injuries reported.

“On Thursday, June 25th, 2020 at approximately 3:00 am, Fourth District responded to the 1500 block of Meridian PL NW in reference to a shooting investigation. The victim was an adult male, who was conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. The victim is being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

This case is actively being investigated by Fourth District Detectives.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in locating suspects and a vehicle of interest in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, June 11, 2020, in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, Northeast.

At approximately 1:21 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered five adult males and two juvenile males, all conscious and breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds. (more…)

“On 6/16/20 at approximately 10:15 pm, First District officers responded to the 700 block of 7th Street NW for the sounds of gunshots. Once on the scene, officers found evidence that a gun had recently been fired and began searching for involved parties and witnesses. It is believed that a confrontation between unknown persons led to the gunshots. There are no reports of injuries at this time.

“On 6/15/2020 at approximately 6:55 PM, an MPD K9 officer was flagged down for a carjacking that just occurred near the intersection of 11th St SE and Pennsylvania Ave SE. A witness saw the victim on a scooter stopped at a traffic light when a suspect punched the victim and pulled him off of the scooter before riding away. (more…)



7th and O St, NW

Readers reported around 5-7 shot fired at 7th and O St, NW. There was a report of an ambulance on scene but I haven’t seen any official reports of injured from MPD. Will update when/if they release anything on this.


Around when Covid hit I got some emails about a shoe thief but I was overcome by events and totally forgot about it. Apparently it’s still happening – got this email on Sunday:

“Today my sister was visiting and she left her shoes out side the door and that lady stole her shoes.” (more…)
